The New Forest Red Tent was founded by Heidi right at the end of 2013, and has been running monthly since the beginning of 2014.  Eventually it expanded to include Southampton, with it's Wisdom and Sharing Circles being held twice a month in two different lovely venues.

The idea of Red Tent was born from Anita Diamant's book published in 1997, and the movement was birthed by ALisa Starkweather.  Today women in many countries meet to reclaim their collective wisdom and heal their wounds. It is a movement which is based on thousands of years of tradition, which has been a little lost in some cultures.  The Red Tent is a space where women honour and respect women, they nurture and care for each other, they share with honesty and truth.  The Red Tent encourages connection and trust.  It is a space to re-member and pass on the womb wisdom.  It is the perfect place to find wholeness, lessen isolation, re-vision who you are, make new friends and learn ancient truths about the sacred feminine essence.  Each Red Tent circle creates a community which has a positive affect on the wider community, and that in turn changes our world.

Our Red Tent is a soft fabric space where we women of all ages, with or without a current menstrual cycle, can nurture each other, listen with our hearts, share our stories and our wisdoms. It is a place where we can empower our maidens, honour our mothers and respect our wise elders. It is the sacred space to acknowledge our rites of passage and celebrate our femininity.
